God—life—why

Inactive

Hello all,

I’m sorry to say that I won’t be posting here anymore in the foreseeable future. I really would love to have infinite time so that I could share everything that I read, but time is limited, especially now that I’m in school again—so I want to make the most of it. Maybe I’m being selfish, I don’t know, but I think my time on Tumblr could be better spent reading and learning. Honestly it’s not a matter of being too busy: studying only takes up a few hours per day at most. But I’m at a time where I think reading and exploring (in literature and academics) would be a wiser use of free time, and it’s great fun too.

Maybe one day I’ll be back, who knows. But for now (and maybe forever) I’ll be gone. I’m sorry it was such a short-lived undertaking; my apologies to those who were expecting more. I’ll still leave all the stuff I’ve already put up here.

Thanks for your understanding, and be blessed! Live every day in the presence and sweet knowledge of God’s love and grace!

School

Dear followers/random other people: sorry for not posting anything lately. School started again for me this week, and it’s been pretty busy. I probably won’t post anything in the next week, but after I settle into this semester I’ll try to get back on Tumblr. See you then, and be blessed in the love and grace of God!

Every moment and every event of every man’s life on earth plants something in his soul.

The New Testament writers speak as if Christ’s achievement in rising from the dead was the first event of its kind in the whole history of the universe. He is the ‘first fruits’, the ‘pioneer of life’. He has forced open a door that has locked since the death of the first man. He has met, fought, and beaten the King of Death. Everything is different because He has done so. This is the beginning of the New Creation: a new chapter in cosmic history has opened.

C. S. Lewis, Miracles

When physical and family relationships or ordinary associations, that is, those arising from everyday life with all its claims upon people who are working together, are not projected into the spiritual community, then we must be especially careful.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Life Together

Dave's status: I think a lot of religious people give Jesus a bad name. [...]
Steve: I would be Christian if it weren't for Christians.

Grace: I was pondering Steve's response and realized that I would not be a Christian if it were not for Christians.

“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV
